A native of Grand Bahama, Cathy Laing was born in the tranquill settlement of Pelican Point and is the first of 8 children born to Rev. & Mrs. Ivan Laing. Cathy's greatest insiration is her creator. As a poet, actress, choreographer and producer, Cathy has proven she is creative in mind, body and soul. Oil has become her favourite medium..."I love the fact that it's fun to play with the rich delicious colours, it stays where you put it, and it's easy to correct mistakes because it doesn't dry too fast." Cathy's work is currently displayed at Bahamian Tings and The Freeport Art Centre.
